Applications
LNG
ZR-LNG finds application in on-shore, near-shore and off-shore mid-scale LNG production. Single train capacities are feasible in excess of 2 million tonnes/year.
The low capital cost introduces a game changing ‘size fit’ making ZR-LNG suitable for deployment on gas fields with limited reserves and which cannot sustain the production or capital requirements of high-capacity multi-refrigerant base-load plants.
The lower equipment count, 15% lower footprint and lower weight of ZR-LNG is particularly beneficial for FLNG application as it also results in a reduced deck area and weight of the host hull or platform, further reducing capex. Alternatively, the reduced footprint allows installation of additional productive liquefaction capacity on an existing hull/platform, enhancing project economics.
LH2
Hydrogen liquefaction finds application for:
- Energy storage for renewable power generation to cover no wind/no sun conditions
- Energy storage for variable industrial demand
- Hydrogen supply/demand imbalance
- Export of bulk energy in the form of LH2, in a manner similar to LNG
- Regional road/rail hydrogen shipments by reducing gas volumes by a factor of 800
All the above as illustrated in the video below LH2 Applications
